Office of Unified Communications (OUC) helps to promote kickoff

On April 9th, the Office of Unified Communications (OUC) helped promote the kick-off of National 911 Education Month during a block party at Ferebee-Hope Community School. The event, hosted by the E-911 Institute and the Coalition for 911 Education, in conjunction with the OUC, served as the national commencement of the annual month-long effort to educate all Americans on the proper usage of 911. Close to 400 students of the school participated in a number of educational and fun activities— from interacting with McGruff the Crime Dog and watching a police helicopter maneuver demonstration to making practice calls on a "911 Simulator."
