Passing of OUC Chief Administrative Officer Yvonne McManus

Tuesday, November 10, 2020

Washington, DC - It is with immense sadness that the Office of Unified Communications (OUC) shares that cherished team member Yvonne McManus, Chief Administrative Officer, has passed away following a lengthy illness. This is a devastating loss for the OUC family and the District of Columbia government, and she will be desperately missed. Yvonne was a warm, loving, and a generous friend to us all.

With more than 19-years of dedicated and noble service to the Government of the District of Columbia, over the course of her career, as she held positions within the Executive Office of the Mayor, the Office of the City Administrator, and with the OUC, her reputation for being reliable, dignified, and having the highest personal integrity preceded her.

“It is impossible to overstate how deeply Yvonne’s passing has impacted me and every single one of us at the OUC. Her unflappable temperament and even keeled nature were a calming force in the face of the most challenging circumstances. I speak on behalf of the entire agency when I say that we will miss her professionalism and expertise, but most of all, her kindness.” – Karima Holmes, Director
